003/365
Tried to post this entry once already, dang it. Long story short: today was a tired day and I had no enthusiasm about having my picture taken [as you'll notice]. I'm also disappointed I don't have a finished knitting project to showcase in today's picture, but I haven't sewn it up yet.

Argh. Lameeee.
Mom's camera is acting funny. It won't let me take pictures of my gorgeous son [who is currently passed out in his swing, heh]!! Argh..
So I'll try to start again this Wednesday. I wanna start on a "Caden anniversary" since he was born on a Wednesday. And I WILL start next week, dang it. Otherwise I'll never start and a year will pass and I'll have no pictures to show for it. Yeahhh, that won't be happening.
In other news: my uncle Boo is here!! Yay! And I get to see him tomorrow. He's the first outoftown relative to meet my little guy [not to rub it in, of course] and I can't wait to get some pictures of Caden & his greatuncle Boo.
Oh, and my cowl should be done tonight.. if my son will stay asleep long enough.

Last night was no fun. I think Caden slept for a total of 2 hours - cut up into 15 minute intervals. Then he'd fuss about different things.. a bottle, a new diaper, he felt cold, then he was sweating, and [my personal favorite] Mom was too far and/or wasn't holding him. Oy vey.
I was rather thankful today that I had the downstairs to myself for 3/4 of the day since I knew I was going to be crabby. Caden slept in his swing the entire day, too. Gave me plenty of time to develop an annoyance towards Charlene's scarf. I had to frog it again; it was giving me such a headache. She already knew she was getting this scarf, but I warned her that she may not be getting it on Friday because it's such a pain in the ass. And it's all due to human error. I get sidetracked with a tv show, the phone rings, the dogs start barking their heads off, or Caden needs me.. I set it down, I forget what row I'm on, and I manage to screw it up remarkably fast. I needed something to ease the headache so I started a cowl for myself. I'm knitting it on 10 and 1/2s [which seem gigantic considering I've been knitting on 7's for the last week] with a wool yarn in a Jade color [I love it; it's got a tint of gold to it] on a pattern that, according to Ravelry, most people are finishing in about 2 days of nonstop knitting. The pattern reads somewhat difficult, but luckily I found someone who made it idiotproof so I'm really enjoying it.
Another post will be coming soon with Caden and I's first day of the "365". Right now, I've got ice cream waiting on me.. =]

True, I've swapped updating my blog everyday for my knitting [unless the kid's awake - then he gets 100% of my attention]. I severely need to get my current one, a scarf for Charlene, done. I wanted to get it done before I had Caden.. and that didn't happen. Then I wanted to get it done before Christmas.. and that didn't happen either. Then I said "Ok! New Year's!".. Can you see the pattern developing? But I've finally settled on yarn that I love [she loves it too - she was with me when I got it, having no idea that it was intended for her] and a pattern that is easy enough for me to remember and knit while Caden sleeps. I frogged it last night [that's knitting lingo for "I ripped it out"] but I restarted it and I'm determined to have it done by Friday.
After this scarf, I want to do 3 hats [one for Charlene (to match the scarf), one for myself (it'll match Charlene's), and another that may be a surprise], knit up some little Valentine's Day hearts for Gracie and Grant when they come see me and "Baby Cadee", and yet another scarf for Charlene's birthday [June 30th]. We want to take Caden and go to San Francisco the weekend before her birthday, since they have a HUGE Pride parade. Charlene's always wanted to go and since I'm a full-fledged supporter of equal rights [humans are humans are humans and should all be treated the same, btw], we've decided we really wanna go. Plus Caden will be 6 months be then - old enough to hang out with Mommy and Godmommy at the beach [!!!!]. I'm hoping Mom and Dad will let me defer my Christmas money and my birthday celebration [it's only 20, next year's the fun one] into a trip to San Fran.
By the way, today was a Caden milestone. He was in his swing and when he saw his mama, he smiled really wide.. and giggled. FOR THE FIRST TIME!! It was the cutest thing I've ever heard! I was the only one around to hear it.. which made it all the more special, because it was intended for Mommy. =]
Speaking of the kid, there are 10 new pictures of him on my Myspace [plus a new picture of myself - new hair!!].. and he's now awake so Mommy needs to go heat up a bottle.
Wish me luck getting the scarf done on time! I'll post pictures of it once I'm done. Oh, and Caden and I's "365 Challenge" starts tomorrow on Caden's 5th Week so look out for *new* pictures of me and the kid every. single. day.

Busy Mama am I.
Quick update while Caden catnaps, hehe. He's been having difficulty sleeping lately so maybe I can get out a paragraph or two before he wakes up. Poor guy. =[
His sleep cycle is off because he and Mommy had their first outing yesterday [!!!!]. We went in Grandma's car to Charlene's house, where we picked up the Godmommy and went to the mall [where Mommy got two awesome shirts], Joann's [where Mommy got some sweeeeet yarn that will eventually be a hat/scarf combo for Mommy], and Walmart [where Caden got a new shirt]. Because we were in the car for a while, Caden fell asleep in his carseat. Unfortunately, he stayed asleep for a good 5 1/2 hours. Since he slept so much yesterday afternoon, he didn't want to sleep much last night.
And today he slept for a bit while I went to get my hair chopped off [some SERIOUS cutting got done - Myspace pictures will be up by tomorrow] and did some errand running. But he hasn't slept much for Mommy.. =[ I think he's a little pissed that I didn't take him out with me again, heh.
Cross your fingers that he'll sleep tonight!!
Oh, btw: Caden and I are doing the "365 Challenge". Basically you put a picture up of yourself every day for a year. I couldn't think of a better excuse to take constant pictures of him & have a reason to show 'em off, haha.
I've taken more recent pictures of Caden this week that are currently still sitting on the digital camera, but I'll get them on Myspace soon! Along with pictures of me with my new hurr 'do. =]
Now off to knit and soothe Caden when he starts fussing. Which should be in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2..
